We are currently seeking a Store Leader to drive the success of our Ballarat store.

* The successful candidate will be responsible for driving profitability, service and merchandising standards within the store. They will also focus on maintaining safe work practices, coaching and building a positive store culture.

Responsibilities:

1. To achieve budgeted sales and profit targets through effective management and leadership
2. To manage store expenses including variable costs such as labour, inventory and stock levels
3. To build strong relationships with trade and retail customers to increase sales and provide excellent customer service
4. To maintain high visual standards and ensure products are effectively merchandised
5. To deliver an exceptional customer experience by enabling product and store experiences
6. To recruit, onboard and develop new team members
7. To roster and manage your team through regular feedback, motivation, coaching and development
8. To create a safe working environment and ensure all staff adhere to safe working procedures
9. To foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
10. To effectively manage inventory levels to meet consumer demand and seasonal changes

About you:

* You have previous retail management experience and a desire to succeed in this role
* You have demonstrated experience in leading and managing a trusting team and developing strong internal and external relationships
* You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to delegate tasks and roles effectively
* You have experience servicing both trade and retail customers and growing a business
* You have financial acumen, understanding of P&L reports, inventory management, rostering and controlling expenses
* You hold a valid driver's licence and are able to perform manual tasks, such as lifting 15L cans of paint
* You are able to handle conflict and work under pressuring timelines
* You have the ability to build a strong team and utilise strengths to provide leadership where development is required
* Prior knowledge of the paint/surface coating industry would be advantageous
