Excellent opportunity for an experienced WHS Consultant with strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills to join a leading health care provider in Newcastle, NSW.
Monthly Rostered Days Off, Flexible Working Hours & Paid Parental Leave.
Permanent Full-Time Position.
**Salary Classification**: Health Services Manager Level 1
**Remuneration**: $78,079.01 to $105,030.30 per annum PLUS any applicable loadings and superannuation.
About the role
The Work Health & Safety Consultant leads, guides and promotes a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing. The role works across all areas and involves:
Leading safety investigations, assessments and audits.
Proactively managing the non-work-related injury process.
Ensuring consistent awareness and delivery of key safety initiatives.
Collaborating with key stakeholders as part of the Public Private Partnership.
Maintaining the injury management system and compiling associated reports.
Escalating and making recommendations on key safety risks utilising safety data.
Partnering with the Executive team and leaders to deliver best practices and monitor compliance.
Partnering with the Return-to-Work coordinator to assist with plans and managing the LTI investigation process.

What you bring
Demonstrated ability to use initiative and self-directed work habits.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work, Health and Safety or related discipline.
Proven knowledge of Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation methodologies.
Experience in partnering with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to influence WHS outcomes and objectives.
Recent experience working in workplace health and safety and/or risk management in a large and complex organisation.
Written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting information in a variety of formats to different audiences.
The Calvary Mater Newcastle is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area. Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to Calvary Mater Newcastle on commencement.
