About the Role
The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining a range of technical materials—including user manuals, system guides, online help documentation, training materials, and marketing content. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex IT concepts into clear and accessible language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Research, develop, and write clear, concise, and accurate technical content for manuals, handbooks, multimedia materials, and online documentation.
Consult with subject matter experts, engineers, and management to understand products, services, and core selling features.
Review and edit materials to ensure adherence to company style guides, grammatical accuracy, and consistency across all platforms.
Write engaging and informative content for digital and print media—including websites, blogs, catalogues, and promotional materials.
Ensure that all documentation complies with branding, editorial, and legal standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to create user-friendly content that supports business development, customer training, and product launches.
Analyse audience needs to develop appropriate documentation structures and improve information accessibility.
Contribute to editorial decision-making processes and publication strategies aligned with organisational goals.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Information Technology, or a related field.
Other Skills and Requirements
Minimum 1 year experience as Technical Writer, Content Developer, or similar role within an IT or engineering environment.
Strong ability to research, comprehend, and articulate technical information clearly and effectively.
Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and style.
Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, or similar).
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Familiarity with IT systems, networking, or software development is highly desirable.
