Lead Electrical Engineer Aerospace | Defence Location : Brisbane, QLD An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join an advanced aerospace project developing a next-generation aircraft. This is an innovative project delivering mission-critical capability through a hybrid propulsion and advanced electrical power system. As the project enters a critical phase of development, the team is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the electrical architecture and power systems supporting the platform. The Role As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and performance of the aircraft’s electrical power systems, ensuring the platform meets demanding performance and reliability requirements. Working closely with the Chief Engineer and multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering the electrical architecture required to support propulsion, ancillary systems, and overall aircraft performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will help guide engineering decisions and ensure successful integration of complex subsystems. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and integration of aircraft electrical power systems Define and oversee the electrical architecture supporting propulsion and onboard systems Support integration of high-power propulsion systems and ancillary electrical components Ensure system reliability, safety, and performance across the platform Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and systems engineers Support testing, validation, and flight readiness activities Contribute to technical decision-making and programme milestones What We're Looking For 8 years’ experience in electrical engineering within aerospace, defence, or advanced engineering environments Strong experience with high-power electrical systems or power electronics Experience integrating complex electrical systems into aerospace, UAV/UAS, robotics, or autonomous platforms Background in electrical power systems, propulsion integration, or aircraft electrical architecture Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams Eligible to obtain Australian Defence security clearance Why This Role?
