The Role: Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability NAO this role will see you deliver equipment reliability, maintainability and efficiency across our Northern Australian Operations (NAO), while ensuring safety, legislative and environmental standards are maintained.
Your Duties
- Ensure that rotating equipment assets have effective Reliability and Capability Life Plans and reliability and risk-based maintenance strategies.
- Work closely with Maintenance Planners to ensure that preventive and predictive maintenance work orders in SAP PM are aligned with equipment maintenance strategies.
- Support and promote the use of maintenance work quality systems and documentation such as Work Instructions, Procedures, Check sheets, Specifications, and Inspection and Test Plans.
- Undertake assigned technical investigations, inspections, studies and analyse historical data, to determine rotating equipment risk and criticality.
- Complete equipment failure investigations using root cause analysis techniques.
- Initiate, undertake and follow through with reliability improvement projects including plant modifications.
What You’ll Bring
- You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in maintenance and/or engineering of a petro-chemical manufacturing plant, power generation or similar heavy industry environment
- Understanding of RBM (Risk-based Maintenance) and RCM (reliability centred maintenance) strategy development
- Strong skills in failure analysis techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Experience with CMMS – (SAP preferred)

Northern Australian Operations consists of an Ammonium Phosphate Mine and Processing Plant (Phosphate Hill) and Sulphuric Plant (Mt Isa) in North Queensland. The facilities comprise of ammonia, beneficiation, phosphoric acid, granulation and sulphuric acid plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.
