The program
The Australian Red Cross - Rockhampton Branch was founded in 1914 to uphold humanitarian values, support local communities, and raise vital funds. Today, it remains as one of the highest earning Branch in Australia, and one of Queensland's most active Branches. It brings community members together to knit Trauma Teddies, offers medical equipment hire to the public, and runs a retail shop. The building includes an Accommodation Wellbeing Centre and plays a key role as a hub for coordinating and delivering emergency services.
The opportunity
As the Vice President or Treasurer for the Rockhampton Branch, you will liaise with the President to help oversee the Branch's activities, while maintaining regular contact with the Brisbane Office. This role offers the chance to engage in local initiatives that connect and support your community. You will be comfortable using computers and access and send email and other correspondence as requested. If appointed a Treasurer, a willingness to assist in recording financial transactions will be necessary.
The impact
The Vice President or Treasurer role contributes directly to the Branch's overall performance and community engagement. The role plays a key role in ensuring smooth and effective coordination to the success of the Branch operations while contributing to a meaningful impact on community initiatives. The role is an opportunity to learn from many people's diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others.
