We’re Hiring! Financial Controller
Are you an experienced Financial Controller ready to make a real impact in a growing business? We’re looking for a passionate finance leader who loves all things accounting from overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance to developing strategies, preparing reports, and driving performance across divisions to maintain our company’s financial health.
About the Role
This is a senior finance leadership role, responsible for guiding financial strategy and execution across the SOILCO group. If you’re motivated by growth, collaboration, and the opportunity to shape the financial future of a dynamic organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee all accounting operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity across the business.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare insightful financial reports for management and the board.
- Manage statutory compliance across GST, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.
- Oversee financial audits and maintain strong controls.
- Monitor performance against budgets, analyse variances, and provide actionable insights.
- Partner with department leaders to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Support business growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic projects.
- Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
Required Skills
- Professional qualification CA (or working toward one).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior finance or financial control role, ideally within a multi-entity or growing business.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for management and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on coaching and development.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities across departments and with external partners.
- A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapid-paced environment.
