We're looking for a Legal Counsel to join us in a hybrid, permanent role.
At Aussie Broadband, our Legal team is a strategic partner to the business, providing expert guidance across legal, regulatory, and commercial functions. We're involved in a wide range of work that helps drive the business forward.
We're looking for a qualified lawyer, admitted to practice in Australia, with in-house experience and exposure to governance. Telco or ASX-listed experience is a plus, but not essential.
In this role, you'll engage with a varied legal portfolio while supporting the Assistant Company Secretary on board governance and regulatory compliance - making a genuine interest in corporate governance a key asset.

Let's talk about you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent, and admission to practice in Australia
- Experience in-house, with exposure to governance or company secretarial work
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to assess risk quickly
- Confident communicator who speaks up when it matters
- Telco or ASX-listed company experience is a plus, but not essential

How will you support our "Why?"
- Review and negotiate a variety of contracts, including customer, procurement, consultancy, IT, sponsorship, and leases
- Provide legal advice across commercial, consumer, IP, corporate, and property matters
- Draft and maintain standard contracts and templates
- Manage disputes and support litigation processes
- Deliver legal training and guidance to the business
- Support the Assistant Company Secretary with board materials, reports, regulatory filings, and governance tasks
- Assist with ASX and ASIC compliance, maintaining company registers, and managing employee share plans

Aussie Broadband is an Australian operated telecommunications company that was formed in 2008 and is based in Morwell Victoria, Australia.
The company's main focus is nbn (NBN) subscription plans and bundles to residential homes, small businesses, not-for-profits, corporate/enterprise and managed service providers.
