We're looking for a confident, hands-on hospitality professional ready to take the next step in their career. Lake Macquarie Tavern is part of the Don Hodge Group – a family-owned hospitality group with venues across Newcastle, Sydney and Forbes, including The Belmont Hotel and Warners at the Bay in the Lake Macquarie area.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager, Duty Manager or Operations-focused Pub Manager who's ready to step up into a full Venue Manager position. You'll have the support of an Area Manager and a strong head office team.

We've got big plans for the venue in 2026 and are looking for a manager who can lead the team through its next stage of growth.
What You'll Do
* Lead day-to-day venue operations across bar, bistro, gaming and bottleshop
* Manage and mentor a team of department managers and supervisors
* Drive sales performance, profitability and compliance
* Champion great service and a positive workplace culture
* Oversee rostering, training, and venue presentation
* Work closely with head office on marketing, events and community partnerships
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as a 2IC, Assistant Manager, or senior Duty Manager in a pub or large hospitality venue
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Understanding of financial performance and compliance requirements
* A people-first attitude – you lead from the front and support your team
* RSA, RCG and TAB compliance certificates (required)
* A passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences
