Civil works plant operators are key players in maintaining and constructing roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure in remote areas. They operate heavy plant machinery, perform general labouring duties and work part of a team to deliver quality outcomes for the community.
The role involves the safe and competent operation of heavy plant machinery such as graders, excavators, rollers, dozers, backhoes, loaders and water trucks. It also includes carrying out labouring tasks using powered tools and conducting daily pre start routine plant servicing and safety checks.
Applicants should have demonstrated experience in civil construction plant operations, hold certificates of competency and licences for multiple plant items, possess a current HC drivers licence and a general construction safety white card. Strong teamwork, problem solving, communication skills and the ability to work in physically demanding environments with a strong safety focus are essential.
