In this manager role you will provide services to employers across a range of matters, including wage trust and payroll compliance, strategic workplace changes and restructuring, industrial relations and enterprise bargaining, restructures, workforce transfers and redundancy.

We work closely with PwC’s Workforce and Data Assurance teams to provide integrated services and to conduct broad reviews and risk assessments of employer practices. Our clients are primarily large Australian and international employers who often require advice on several of the areas listed above.

What you’ll do:

- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on complex local and global employee matters, including payroll and wage compliance due diligence and broader employment law reviews.
- Work on complex wage underpayment cases, which includes coordinating remediation efforts and collaborating with teams specializing in data assurance, payroll advisory, and employment taxes. This work also requires communication with the Fair Work Ombudsman.
- Provide timely, practical legal advice on general employment law issues, including:
- unfair dismissal, breach of contract, general protections and adverse action claims
- redundancy, termination and deeds of release
- employment contracts, executive agreements and contractor agreements
- contemporary awards, enterprise agreements and bargaining
- workplace discrimination, bullying and harassment matters
- workplace investigations and disciplinary processes

- Drafting and reviewing workplace policies, employment contracts, contractor agreements and employee handbooks.
- Conducting investigations and preparing reports.

What we’re looking for:

- You are admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales with 3-6 years PQE in private practice or similar environment and are knowledgeable and skilled in employment and industrial law.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in award interpretation, payroll compliance projects, communications with the Fair Work Ombudsman and defending underpayment claims.
- Demonstrate a commercial mind with the ability to translate legal risk into practical business advice.
