Overview
Excellent opportunities exist for experienced and passionate Registered Midwives to join the team at a private hospital in Newcastle. You can work in a variety of areas, including the antenatal and postnatal wards, the Maternity Assessment Unit, the elective Caesarean list, and within both the Birthing Suite and the recently renovated Special Care Nursery. There are permanent full-time and part-time roles available.
Responsibilities
As a Registered Midwife, you will provide high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups. You will be committed to the delivery of woman centred care in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. There are several specialty areas within our service providing a dynamic and engaging experience to the right applicant. You will have the opportunity to work on the antenatal ward, in the Maternity Assessment unit, Birthing Suites, Postnatal ward, Cesarean lists, and/or in the beautifully renovated Special Care Nursery. You will need to bring a genuine interest in caring for women and their family through the various stages of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. You will be an experienced midwife with excellent communication skills and enjoy working in an inclusive and vibrant environment that values and supports our diverse families.
Qualifications
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife;
Minimum of 2 years\' recent experience working as a Registered Midwife in similar roles;
Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised woman-centred care;
Sound clinical decision-making and problem solving skills;
Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
Excellent communication and customer service skills;
Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty;
Basic computer skills;
Current NSW Working with Children Check.

Remuneration
$35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
About the Facility
The hospital, located in Newcastle, is an 189-bed, acute, private facility with 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. The Maternity Unit comprises a Birthing Suite, Maternity Ward, and Special Care Nursery. Birthing Suite has 6 rooms on the ground floor, with Croudace Operating Theatres adjacent. The Maternity Ward encompasses 38 beds combined with antenatal and postnatal rooms.
