Are you passionate about public health and making a difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing disease control, surveillance, and follow-up activities related to notifiable infectious diseases. You will play a key part in outbreak management by providing expert advice, education, and consultative services to health professionals, the public, institutions, schools, and child care centres. Additionally, you will support the immunisation team and contribute as an immunising nurse in the school vaccination program.

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated high level experience in surveillance and control of notifiable diseases.
- Current Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and CPR certificate
- Authority to provide Immunisation Services as per NSW Health Policy Directive 2015_011 or willingness to work towards the same.
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate confidently and independently with health and other professionals and members of the public.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience in the use of databases.
- Demonstrated experience as a registered nurse (including completion of a recent graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse).
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to different parts of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District as the need arises.
- Ability to participate in the public health after hours on call roster
