Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is a new, dedicated public youth mental health service and is the first of its kind in Australia. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team.

About Us:

Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria's newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

PYMHWS is leading a bold and values-driven transformation in youth mental health care across Melbourne's north and west. We exist to walk alongside young people, their families, carers, supporters and kin delivering care that is accessible, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, evidence-informed, and grounded in lived experience. The Opportunity:

Join Parkville Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC), a 20 bed sub‐acute, residential program supporting young people aged 16 – 25 years old. We provide short‐term recovery focused care for those stepping up to avoid hospital admission or stepping down to transition back to the community.

The Clinical Team Leader will lead and support a multidisciplinary team within a youth mental health setting, contributing to safe, effective and recovery‐focused care. This role requires strong leadership, sound clinical judgement and the ability to support staff while maintaining service quality and operational priorities.

About the Role:

Clinical Team Leader plays a key role in leading the day to day operations of the service, supporting the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, recovery oriented‐care to young people. The role works closely with the coordinator and contributes to strategic planning, service development and systems thinking to improve processes and outcomes.

In partnership with the NGO Youth Wellbeing Team Leader, the role supports program delivery, safe transitions in and out of the service and fosters a positive, collaborative team culture.

What You'll Do:

* Lead daily clinical and operational functioning of the service, ensuring safe, high standard of care.
* Support and supervise a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive, productive team culture. Professional development by training opportunities occur.
* Collaborate with the Coordinator, Youth Wellbeing Team Leader, and Medical team to contribute to strategic planning, service development and improvement initiatives.
* Oversee risk management, documentation standards and adherence to policies and procedures.
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and outcomes for young people.

About You:

A Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist with demonstrated experience in leading clinical teams within public mental health settings. Brings strong expertise in assessment, risk management, care planning, and service coordination, alongside the ability to support staff and oversee the delivery of high-quality, recovery‐oriented care. Skilled in managing complexity, guiding clinical decision-making, and fostering a trauma‐informed, collaborative team environment.

* Eligible disciplines: RPN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker Grade 4 / Psychologist Grade 3.
* Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in tertiary and/or youth mental health, with demonstrated expertise in assessment, risk assessment and management, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
* Proven leadership capability, including staff support, supervision, and fostering a positive team culture.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and support service operations.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, including Coordinator and NGO partners, to support integrated service delivery.
* Skilled in engaging young people, families, and carers to support safe, inclusive, and recovery-oriented care.
* Committed to continuous improvement, systems thinking, cultural safety, and family-inclusive practice.
