Our Disability Support Workers assist clients in their daily lives, promoting independence and well-being through a person-centred approach. This may include helping with household duties, yard maintenance, transporting clients to appointments, and assisting with personal care.

The Day-to-Day Aspects of the Role:

1. Assisting clients with daily tasks such as household duties and yard maintenance
\
2. Transporting clients to appointments
\
3. Promoting independence and well-being
\
4. Assisting with personal care
\
5. Medical administration (if qualified)
\
6. Administration, e.g., daily journal reporting
\
7. Building relationships with clients and their families to ensure effective support and communication
\
8. Working collaboratively with Neighbourhood Team Leaders to achieve client outcomes
\
9. Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
\
10. Contributing to a culture of respect, professionalism, and continuous improvement
\
11. Embracing new ideas and approaches to improve support services
\
12. Adhering to organisational policies and procedures while maintaining flexibility and adaptability
\
13. Engaging in regular reflection and self-assessment to identify areas for growth and improvement
\
14. Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and improve client outcomes
\
15. Developing and maintaining effective communication skills to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders

16. Staying up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance and quality service delivery

17. Identifying and mitigating risks to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
