The Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a private equity-backed Australian business entering its next phase of growth. Operating nationally, this organisation is becoming an icon of the gaming and entertainment space. With a strong recurring revenue model, loyal customer base, and significant network effects, the organisation is well positioned for expansion.
The Role You will be the most senior finance leader within the business and a key member of the executive leadership team. You will partner directly with the Executive Director, divisional leaders and board, providing commercial insight, building robust reporting frameworks, and helping drive EBITDA growth. The responsibilities of your role will include but not be limited to the following.
Lead the full annual budgeting process, including divisional engagement and executive alignment
Build and maintain a 3-5 year financial model aligned to strategic growth initiatives
Translate strategic initiatives into financial outcomes, KPIs and measurable performance targets
Conduct detailed margin and contribution analysis across products, venues, and event categories
Analyse venue and partner economics to optimise pricing and incentives
Support evaluation of growth initiatives, new products, and potential acquisitions
Identify and drive EBITDA improvement opportunities
Act as a trusted commercial advisor to the Executive Director and leadership team
Challenge divisional leaders constructively on financial performance and strategy
Support pricing strategy, incentive design and margin optimisation
Improve financial accountability and commercial literacy across the organisation
Provide insight-led analysis to inform key strategic decisions
Design and implement a structured monthly management reporting framework
Deliver board-ready reporting aligned to private equity governance standards
Develop KPI dashboards and performance commentary for executive and board stakeholders
Implement rolling forecasting discipline and forward-looking financial analysis
Improve financial visibility across cashflow, margins, contractor economics and revenue drivers
Lead and structure the finance function as the business scales
Establish clear separation across commercial finance, accounting and transactional processing
Improve efficiency through process improvement and automation
Strengthen financial controls and governance frameworks
Reduce key-person dependency and introduce scalable finance processes
The Candidate With experience working within a PE environment, you are a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and enjoys building structure and insight in growing businesses. You combine strong analytical capability with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate financial data into clear commercial decisions.
8+ years’ experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or finance business partnering
Experience operating in multi-site businesses
Proven ownership of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
Experience building management reporting frameworks from the ground up
Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling capability
Experience improving finance structures in lean or fast-growing businesses
