Goods Inwards / Receiving – Retail Nursery
About the role
We are seeking a reliable and organised Goods Inwards / Receiving team member to join our retail nursery. This hands-on role is essential to keeping our nursery running smoothly, ensuring stock arrives safely, is checked accurately, and prepared for sale. This is a casual position to start, with the view to going Part Time.
About you
You are detail-oriented, physically fit, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You take pride in accuracy, organisation, and teamwork, and understand the importance of keeping stock moving efficiently.
You will:
* Receive and unpack deliveries of plants, giftware, and nursery supplies
* Categorising items
* Check goods against delivery notes for quantity, quality, and accuracy
* Ensure stock is correctly stored, labelled, and ready for display or sale
* Maintain a clean and organised storeroom and nursery back areas
* Managing stock write offs and claims
* Assist with moving stock around the nursery as required
* Support the retail team when needed
The successful applicant will have:
* Previous experience in goods receiving, warehouse, or retail stock handling (preferred)
* Previous experience with Square advantageous
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Physical fitness and ability to lift/move moderate loads safely
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Availability to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with the view to increase over busy times.
