The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Industry Officer to provide a critical role within Custodial Operations Unit About the Business Unit Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed Restricted Minimum-Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration. About the Role As an Industry Officer, you will train and supervise people working in prison industries. You will support safe, high quality operations, help meet daily targets and prepare people for jobs after release. You will: train people in prison to use tools and machinery safely supervise daily work across factories, services and teams monitor output, stock and records to meet clear production targets maintain safe systems of work and follow all rules and laws support rehabilitation through coaching, feedback and skill assessment To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description. About you You should have relevant trade or industry experience in areas like horticulture, warehousing or metal work ideally, supported with qualifications.
