About the Role
The Principal Communications Officer will provide leadership and guidance across Infrastructure Service Division regarding executive correspondence, briefing and supporting materials. They will foster a work environment with a strong team focus that encourages commitment, professional growth and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and prepare incoming correspondence, Cabinet, Parliamentary and briefing documents, in accordance with the department's Style Guide and Ministerial and Executive Services Guidelines.
* Utilise effective time management practices and monitor, analyse and evaluate activities and work practices for the unit/division.
* Establish and maintain effective liaison, communication and collaboration processes across the division, department and government agencies.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a significant record of highly developed leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain professional relationships with a network of internal and external stakeholders. They must be able to respond and successfully deliver outcomes in a high-pressure environment including consistently delivering timely and quality executive support in a high volume environment. The successful candidate must also possess highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to prepare briefings and submissions, and consult and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues.
