This permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to step into a supportive environment within a large, expanding Australian organisation. As the Payroll Accountant, you will oversee the full end-to-end payroll function. Please note that this position is based on site, five days a week, at our Sydney Olympic Park office.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the role includes:
- Assist the Payroll Manager with weekly Payroll (500+ employees)
- Complete payroll activities including Superannuation, OT, Commission, Workcover.
- Assist Payroll Manager in payroll reporting that enable management in understanding effectiveness payroll spend (actual vs forecast report, optimum roostering, sick leave, OT and commissions
- Assist with forecasting of wages
- Assist Payroll manager with new payroll system implementation
- Independently run payroll when Payroll manager is on leave
- System knowledge Preferred : Employment Hero, UKG and Intermediate to advanced Excel.
Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will have 4+ years of experience in a similar Payroll Officer position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent communication skills and a reliable attitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to confidently work autonomously
- Experience with UKG or Employment Hero is highly regarded.
- Intermediate excel skills
- Motivated and can-do mindset
