Job Description
Cairns, the heart of tropical Queensland and the home of the Great Barrier Reef, a vibrant city surrounded by natural wonders and one of WT's more unique office locations. WT Cairns is a well-established office unit in the broader Queensland Buildings Team, responsible for a broad range of projects in Far North Queensland and has exciting opportunities to for you to join them and continue your career growth with WT.
Working across general building Quantity Surveying, primarily in cost planning and post-contract services, in sectors including Health, Sports Precincts, Civic, Residential and Aviation.
Core responsibilities
Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
Master-plan and feasibility budgets
Cost checking of developing design
Value engineering
Tender evaluations and analysis
Contract negotiations
Cash flow projects
Procurement
Cost reporting
Evaluation of variations
Valuations
Final account reporting
Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
Investment analysis
Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
Extensive experience in cost estimating and planning software / Cost X
Experience managing a broad range of build projects
RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
