**ABOUT BEACON LIGHTING**

With over 1100 team members in our stores, commercial and installation divisions, warehouse and support office, and international business, this is an important role to ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll.
**THE ROLE**
As Payroll Officer you will work as part of a small team to support the Payroll Manager to co-ordinate, administer and execute the Beacon Lighting payroll function in a timely and accurate manner. Key responsibilities include:
- operate, support and maintain the Payroll & Time & Attendance Systems
- assist in maintaining payroll processes procedures
- manage employee maintenance (i.e. adding new employees, employee transfers and terminations) on the payroll system
- assist with end-to-end processing of the fortnightly payrolls
- processing of ad hoc allowances, reimbursements and manual timesheets
- support the preparation of the payroll month end accounting journals for entry into the General Ledger System
- assist with calculating and processing journals relating to the end of period payroll accruals
- assist with all payroll month/year end processing
- assist in the preparation and processing of Team Member incentive payments in accordance with the terms of their employment
**ABOUT YOU**
To be successful in the role you will have:
- at least 2 years' experience in Payroll (Retail experience will be well regarded)
- competent at using all necessary computer programs and systems (experience with ADP Payforce will be very highly regarded)
- strong numeric and computer skills
- sound knowledge of payroll work practices and procedures
- able to read and understand payroll reports and information
- demonstrate sound understanding of required reporting and administrative tasks
- highly adaptable to meet the needs of a dynamic business with continuous employee and process changes
- the ability to accurately interpret employment agreements and company policies and to deal promptly with requests and queries
- strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- well organized and structured in your approach to the completion of tasks
- excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- flexibility to work additional hours, including public holidays, when required to ensure that our payroll processing deadlines are met
