About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Airport Service Duty Officer. This role is based at our station in Brisbane, Australia.
You will support the operation by managing the overall control of the shift while providing a five star service at the airport terminal and creating an enjoyable airport environment for customers whilst travelling. You will also be responsible to track the activities of the sections at the airport and liaising with other airport authorities while ensuring a quality service and adherence to safety policies and security standards.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Ensuring passengers are assisted smoothly through airport facilities
- Performing other related duties for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Supervising GHA staff during all flights to ensure QR standards of service quality is maintained
- Manage the day-to-day operations and act as liaison between airport service providers, and users.
- Provide input and recommendations to management to improve the effectiveness of the daily operations.
- Manage and liaise with manpower on the shift in order to optimize utilization and to maintain staff's morale and discipline.
- Conducts spot-checks on to ensure adequate standards are maintained.
- Responsible to resolve customer problems and complaints effectively liaising on a daily basis with all departments including Customer Relations to provide resolution for complaint handling.
- Conduct briefing sessions for shift and GHA supervisors on a shift basis.
- Compiling a detailed station handling report for Airport Duty Manager on a shift basis.
- Petty Cash Custodianship, delegating duties of subordinates, monthly statistics.
- Responsible to prepare monthly reports and LPC's.

**Qualifications**:
- Relevant College or University qualification
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an airline or reputed Ground Handling Operations at supervisory level.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
- Knowledge of Weight and Balance, Ramp handling and Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Able to perform duties under pressure whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer service standards.
- Good understanding of conditions of carriage, International Civil Aviation Safety and Security procedures
- Experience in areas such as Passenger Services, Baggage Services, Ground Operations, Dangerous Goods Regulations and ramp handling
- High level of computer literacy
- Excellent customer focus and service delivery.
- You must also have the right to live and work in Australia.
