We're seeking an experienced
Senior Network and Security Gateway Engineer
to work with a large federal government department.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Design, evaluate and implement infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demand.
* Provide expert technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities.
* Prepare, review and maintain documentation which may include design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, and support procedures.
* Assist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy and procedures and change initiatives.
* Participate in change management process and communicate the end-to-end implications of configuration changes.
* Provide detailed, specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to the senior executive.
* Engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
* Manage the operation of backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions for IT systems.
* Manage the regular maintenance of patches and support packages for all technical layers.
* Manage the administration and operation of the Gateway network kit.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in the design, management and maintenance of internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environment,
* Technical proficiency in the design of services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.
* Experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure including Cisco Data centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, nexus switches, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
* Experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions
* Experience in the design and implementation of VPN technologies, email and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions.
* Experience in the design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of system architecture and design documentation
* Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.
