Position Overview
Under the Bureau's Strategy, the Energy & Resources (E&R) Program (part of the Business Solutions Group) is responsible for delivering impact and value to improve the safety, reliability, resilience and productivity of the energy and resources sectors in Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region.
The E&R Operation Support Lead, under the direction of the E&R Service Deliver Manager and as part of the broader E&R team, contributes to the quality, and delivery of operational services. This exciting role will focus on high quality, reliable and value-adding services to the Australian energy, telecommunications, and resources sectors, through operational integration.
The primary responsibilities for this role are to support E&R teams to deliver accurate, timely and effective E&R meteorological services and provide a focal point for operational resourcing, training coordination, and product implementation. The role contributes to staff development, capability building, product development, quality assurance for operational and customer outcomes. An understanding of the energy and/or resources sectors and operational forecasting is essential to the success of this role.
The role will contribute to the Bureau's operational excellence through collaboration with teams in the Community Services Group, and other national operations teams who serve the Bureau's focal sectors including Aviation and National Security. Day to day this role will work most closely with the E&R Service Delivery, Solutions and Customer teams to manage product implementation, delivery and quality assurance.
The successful candidate will be an experienced operational coordinator, who is motivated by high-quality service delivery. You will be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer relationship management skills. You will be energised by the challenge of delivering high quality services in a commercial environment.
The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia's national weather, climate and water agency.
