General Manager – Cairns, QLD
Redhill Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a newly refurbished 62-room property in Cairns, QLD, due to reopen imminently and positioned to serve both the corporate and leisure markets in one of Queensland's most dynamic regional cities.

About the Role
Reporting to the Redhill Hospitality Group Regional Manager, you will take full ownership of the property's performance, from guest experience and reservations management through to financial oversight, compliance, and team leadership. You will be empowered to operate with a high degree of autonomy, backed by a dynamic and growing hospitality group committed to the principle that every detail matters.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of guest and customer relations, including enquiries, and everything between check-in and check-out. You will manage first-line reservations management across all channels, phone, web, email, walk-in, and online distribution platforms, and maintain disciplined financial management of property accounts, including the preparation of weekly and monthly operational reports.
As the property's senior leader, you will manage the full spectrum of people management responsibilities: talent acquisition, induction, training, supervision, performance management, and workforce scheduling to ensure operational efficiency. You will actively maintain the highest standards of presentation and functionality across all 62 rooms and property facilities, including the pool and all guest amenities, through a structured quality assurance process, with particular attention to the sustainment and care of the newly completed refurbishment works.
You will ensure the property operates in full compliance with all company policies, legal obligations, and regulatory requirements, and participate in weekly management team calls to keep the broader group aligned. Stock management, vendor coordination, and timely escalation of issues to the operations team will also form part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
About You
You will bring a minimum of three to five years' experience in a senior accommodation management role, ideally within a property of comparable scale. Your approach to leadership is hands-on and guest-focused, and you take genuine pride in the quality of service and presentation your team delivers. You are commercially minded, energetic, and composed under pressure, capable of building strong, lasting relationships with guests, staff, and stakeholders alike.
