 
        
        **DESCRIPTION** 
Following the success of our Regional Capability Trainer pilot, we are looking for a Regional Capability Trainer to join our Perth team. 
You will provide classroom, workshop hands-on, and technical training for Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentices and new Technicians. 
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:** 
+ Coach and develop less experienced technicians and apprentices to independently undertake troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on Cummins Products. 
+ Delivery of Diesel Engine Fundamentals and Basic Diagnostic training to all apprentices in the region. 
+ Participate in monthly Capability Trainer meetings and provide updates on progress against Heavy Vehicle Mechanical milestone training plan for the apprentices in your branch/region. 
+ Provide stakeholder updates and regularly communicate your training program delivery schedule with Supervisors, Workshop Manager and Service Manager. 
+ Maintain a focus on apprentice safety by participating in extended pre-start meetings to ensure their understanding of workplace hazards and risk. 
+ Participate in the annual Apprentice Onboarding Program. 
**RESPONSIBILITIES** 
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:** 
+ Advanced level knowledge of and experience with Heavy Duty Engine products is essential. 
+ Previous experience providing technical advice and coaching to apprentices/technicians (preferred). 
+ Possess or be willing to work towards achievement of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. 
+ Minimum 4 years post trade apprenticeship completion preferred. 
+ Candidates must be based in Perth, and willing to travel across the region as required. 
**QUALIFICATIONS** 
**Qualifications & Experience:** 
**Education:** 
+ Apprentice-trained engine technician or vocational diploma in a relevant technical field is highly desirable. 
+ Certification in engine systems or mechanical/electrical diagnostics will be an advantage. 
+ A **Certificate IV in Training and Assessment** is preferred or a willingness to pursue this certification. 
**Experience:** 
+ **Advanced level knowledge and experience** with engine products, including both mechanical and electronic systems, is essential. 
+ At least **2 years post-apprenticeship** experience working with engine diagnostics and repairs, preferably in a workshop or service setting. 
+ Experience in **coaching and mentoring** less experienced technicians or apprentices is highly desirable. 
+ Experience working with diagnostic equipment, mechanical tools, and electronic service tools. 
+ Proven ability to **maintain and repair engine systems** efficiently, following standard procedures to ensure quality and safety. 
**Certifications:** 
+ **Apprentice-trained Engine Technician** or equivalent. 
+ Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution is preferred. 
+ **Locally valid driver’s permit** (preferred). 
+ **Compliance Licensing:** The role may require additional licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 
**Additional Information:** 
+ **Location:** Perth, Australia (with up to 25% travel required per year) 
+ **Reports to:** Training Manager, APAC with a dotted line to the Laverton Service Manager. 
+ **Salary & Benefits:** This position is paid fortnightly (wage), with overtime opportunities available.
