About the job
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a major dealer group in the Australian agricultural machinery industry as aGroup Sales Manager.
You will provide crucial leadership and strategic direction for agricultural product sales across a significant region spanning much of Victoria and South Australia.
Your core mission will be to drive sales performance, accelerate market share growth, and ensure all sales objectives are perfectly aligned with the broader business strategy.
You will be accountable for product scope ranging from 50 HP tractors right through to combine harvesters, focusing on a reputable major manufacturer.
The role requires an ongoing physical presence across multiple branches and would someone based within a couple of hours of Ballarat, Victoria, for essential weekly team meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and ensure profitability across the assigned territory.
Achieve market share goals in defined segments in partnership with the manufacturer.
Provide guidance on inventory forecasting and assist in asset management goals (turn/aging).
Lead the recruitment, development, and management of direct reports, including Product Managers.
Manage the key agricultural manufacturer relationship and assist with major contract negotiations.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven, senior-level sales leadership experience within the heavy agricultural machinery sector.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute corporate sales strategy and planning.
Exceptional relationship management skills, particularly with key manufacturer partners.
Strong financial acumen and experience with transaction pricing to maximise margins.
Ability to live within a two-hour commute of Ballarat, Victoria, and travel extensively across the AOR.
Previous exposure to Agricultural and Farming Machinery in a retail or wholesale environment would be advantageous for this position.
Candidates who have experience with brands such as John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Fendt, Claas, Kubota, Deutz or similar are strongly encouraged to apply.
On offer is a salary package around $160,000 to $180,000 OTE plus super and fully maintained company vehicle.
