RCR Mining Technologies is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance and minor project works at the ALCOA Port facility in Bunbury.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic industrial environment, can coordinate multidisciplinary trades, and leads safety from the front. Work schedules will vary in line with shutdowns and operational demands and may include nightshift, weekends, and extended rosters.
About the Role
As the Port Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising site activities, coordinating labour and resources, and ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to client and OEM standards. You'll act as RCR's on-site representative and work closely with Alcoa stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate mechanical fitters, boilermakers, scaffolders/riggers, painters, trades assistants, and contractors
* Lead daily prestarts, toolbox talks, and promote a strong safety culture
* Plan and coordinate daily works, rosters, leave, and labour requirements
* Develop and manage work packs and ensure adherence to scope, quality, and schedule
* Act as Isolation Officer and Confined Space Entry Leader
* Ensure compliance with site safety systems, permits, and legislative requirements
* Conduct inspections, critical risk verifications, and participate in JHA development
* Liaise with clients and attend daily planning meetings
* Provide accurate progress updates and escalate technical or resourcing issues
* Prepare quotes for off-site repairs and fabrication work
* Maintain accurate records, documentation, and competency compliance
About You
You're a confident and capable leader with a strong background in fixed plant or port-based maintenance. You communicate well, stay calm under pressure, and know how to get the best out of your team while maintaining uncompromising safety standards.
Essential Qualifications & Licences
* Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication or Mechanical
* Construction White Card
* Current Driver's Licence
* Section 44 or Section 26 Appointment
* Working at Heights, Confined Space, Gas Test, Fire Attack
* Strong working knowledge of isolation and permit systems
Experience & Skills
* Minimum 5 years' experience supervising trades teams, ideally during shutdowns
* Demonstrated leadership in fixed plant or heavy industrial environments
* Strong planning, coordination, and execution skills
* Sound understanding of safety systems and legislative compliance
* Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Microsoft Project experience (desirable)
