About the Role
Nepean Private Hospital seeks an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to work across our HDU and medical cardiac ward on a full‐time basis. The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the HDU and medical/cardiology ward, working collaboratively with consultants to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, and quality management of all patients. You will provide clinical operational direction to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence‐based. With the assistance and direction of the Cardiac Services Manager, you will be accountable for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources.

Nepean Private Hospital is a modern 109‐bed facility located in the multi‐cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. Since 2000, it has provided a wide range of health services including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology, general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. The hospital has eight operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit that includes intensive care.
Position Responsibilities
* Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement.
* Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with VMO partners using a customer‐service mindset to enable high‐quality patient outcomes.
* Provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence‐based.
* Be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources.
* Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
* Undertake direct patient care as required.
Selection Criteria
* Current Registration with AHPRA.
* Working with Children check (if relevant).
* Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable).
* Post‐Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing or working towards (desirable).
* Sound clinical knowledge.
* Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
* Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
* Positive role‐modeling behaviours.
* Excellent customer‐service focus, time management and prioritisation.
* Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment.
* High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases.

Compensation
If successful, you will receive a salary based on Healthscope award and NSWNMA/ANMF — NSW Nurses & Midwives' Enterprise Agreement with an hourly rate of $68.87.
