Position Overview
The General Medicine Unaccredited Trainee is expected to provide effective clinical management of patients, under appropriate supervision, including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures, and maintaining medical records. The role involves developing expertise in medical practice within a complex clinical environment, including supervised management of patients admitted to specialist departments.
This position is based at Auburn Hospital .
Part-time or job share arrangements are considered. Contracts of 6 or 12 months are available. This role offers valuable general medical experience, suitable for those preparing for BPT or GP training. The working hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 0800 to 1630, with after-hours rostered shifts and participation in the on-call roster.
Qualifications and Experience
* MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* At least two (2) years of postgraduate medical practice with relevant experience
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* High-level communication skills, with the ability to adapt to various audiences
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Independent clinical skills and sound judgment, with problem-solving abilities
* Understanding of collaborative teamwork and empathy
* Good academic record, ongoing learning, and potential involvement in research or projects
