ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT
Kanda is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join our community nursing team to support our Healthcare Professionals in delivering patient care across our various Health Sectors.

We provide care, support and home nursing services to clients throughout Australia across a variety of programs including our transitional care programs in Adelaide.
The Allied Health Assistant will work under the direction of our Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to ensure clients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
About The Role:
In this role you will work closely with the TPC/STRC Team to ensure clients are meeting their therapy goals and where necessary reviewing and adapting programs to address the client’s needs.
You will also provide reports and regular updates to the multidisciplinary team.
Supervision and professional support will be provided by the Allied Health Skilled Team.
Key Requirements
- A Certificate III or higher in allied Health Assistance and practical knowledge of the role
- Minimum 12 months experience post qualification
- Genuine commitment to helping older individuals retain their independence
- High level of communication skills that display a commitment to care and empathy for clients and staff
- The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Willing to obtain the relevant screening clearances
- Your own reliable vehicle and current Drivers Licence
- First Aid Certificate (with CPR updated annually)
Day to Day Duties
- Working alongside Allied Health and TCP/STRC Teams to implement treatment and exercise plans as documented
- Engage with patients to provide support, encouragement, and information about their treatment plans, ensuring a positive experience
- Ensuring care plan is consistent and aligned with best practice guidelines and capable of fulfilling client goals and objectives
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing care to patients, which may include monitoring vital signs, helping with exercises, and supporting rehabilitation activities.
- Daily documentation for Physiotherapy and TCP Client visits
- Provide feedback to the Occupational and Physiotherapists relating to service delivery and opportunities for improvement
- Perform administrative tasks e.g. scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records and managing office communications
