Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Superintendent, the Mechanical Engineers primary function is to provide engineering support to the Bengalla mine site as a member of the engineering team.ResponsibilitiesThe role of the Mechanical Engineer includes the following:Providing support to Bengalla teams to ensure safe operation of plant and equipmentDevelop and maintain effective networks through collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStay up to date with relevant legislation, standards, and guidelinesActively promote safety awareness and safe work practices and compliance with the site safety management systemLead or participate in safety investigations, report preparation and implementation of corrective and preventative actionsProvide technical engineering assistance to operational/maintenance teamsProvide guidance / review regarding risk and implementation of controls for engineering changes to plantProvide engineering guidance and support regarding mechanical reliability for the life cycle of equipment and plantQualifications and experienceTo be successful in this role you will have:Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Degree, Associate Degree, or Advanced DiplomaGood understanding of the technical aspects related to machines and machine safety at minesGood understanding of WHS legislation, particularly relating to minesFamiliarity with core standards relevant to equipment and installations in minesGood leadership skillsWhat we offerBengalla values its people and their contribution to the operation.
