* Part time (0.60FTE), fixed term, 12 month opportunity at Camperdown
* Lecturer role delivering education and unit coordination to the Master of Public Health program with international student engagement emphasis
* Base Salary $ 127,436 - $ 151,328 (pro rata for 0.60FTE) + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

Founded in 1930, the Sydney School of Public Health is Australia's first and leading school in public health, dedicated to addressing the world's most pressing health challenges. We are seeking an experienced academic to join our team and contribute to delivering outstanding education within the Master of Public Health program. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in the development, coordination and teaching in the program.

This position offers the opportunity to shape an inclusive learning environment for linguistically and culturally diverse learners, including a large cohort of Chinese international students. You will draw on your experience in international student education to design and implement equitable oral assessments across the program, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

* undertake independent teaching in public health, ensuring high-quality educational design, delivery, and evaluation
* develop, coordinate and teach foundational public health concepts and support students to undertake capstone projects
* design and deliver units of study that meet curriculum requirements and support diverse student needs
* create inclusive learning environments for linguistically and culturally diverse cohorts, including Chinese international students
* contribute to multi-disciplinary, work-integrated learning initiatives
* support the design and implementation of equitable oral assessments across the program
* supervise postgraduate students in line with faculty and university standards
* apply scholarship and contemporary pedagogical knowledge to innovate education
* carry out administrative tasks related to your discipline
* foster a positive workplace culture that values collaboration, diversity, and excellence
* contribute to the university and faculty strategic agenda
* engage beyond the university through conferences, seminars, and outreach activities
* undertake other duties appropriate to the classification level as required.

About you

* demonstrated experience in designing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences in public health
* strong understanding of curriculum development and student-centred learning approaches
* ability to deliver lectures and facilitate tutorials on core public health concepts, and assess and provide constructive feedback at postgraduate level
* capacity to provide structured, evidence-informed tutorials that support students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and disciplinary backgrounds
* demonstrated experience supporting international students' transition and engagement, with the ability to offer specialised bilingual (English–Mandarin) support for Chinese international students
* ability to supervise postgraduate research projects
* knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices and commitment to educational innovation
* excellent organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage administrative responsibilities and utilise teaching administration systems
* collaborative mindset and commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture
* capacity to contribute to strategic initiatives and engage with external academic communities
* ability to contribute to multi-disciplinary teaching and work-integrated learning
* proven track record of engaging in scholarly activities and maintaining a professional academic profile
