Your new role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Roster Coordinator to support our client's Child Safety and Disability Support services. This full‑time role is perfect for someone with strong organisational skills, proven experience managing complex 24/7 rosters, and a passion for ensuring safe, high‑quality care through effective workforce coordination.
* Coordinate rosters for staff supporting child safety and NDIS clients across a 24/7 service model.
* Ensure every shift is safely and appropriately filled, matching staff based on skills, experience, and client needs.
* Manage unplanned absences, last‑minute changes, and workforce contingencies.
* Work closely with frontline teams to maintain smooth daily operations.
* Communicate roster updates clearly and promptly to all staff.
* Oversee timesheet accuracy, award compliance, and support payroll processing.
* Maintain accurate roster records, leave tracking, and documentation.
* Contribute to improving rostering processes and streamlining communication.
* Play a key role in ensuring continuity of care for vulnerable young people and NDIS participants.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in rostering or workforce coordination within social, community, or disability services.
* Strong organisational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* High attention to detail across rosters, reporting, and documentation.
* Proficiency with rostering software and Microsoft Office.
* Understanding of youth development principles, safeguarding, and cultural diversity.
* Creative, flexible, and resourceful approach to problem‑solving and service delivery.
* Supportive and empathetic leadership style, while being firm and consistent in rostering decisions.
* Confidence in setting clear expectations and holding staff accountable to confirmed shifts.
* Willingness to be available outside standard hours when required to resolve urgent roster issues.
* Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and commitment to maintaining 24/7 operational coverage in an essential service.
