The Opportunity
We are proud to be partnering with MCi Carbon in sourcing an experienced Financial Controller / Management Accountant to step into a crucial 3‑month contract role, supporting the business through the back‑end of an ERP transformation project. Join a supportive, ethical organisation & make an impact beyond the numbers. This is an initial 3‑month assignment, supporting a dynamic finance team. It’s a hands‑on assignment suited to a commercially minded finance professional who can confidently manage end‑to‑end financial functions while delivering accurate reporting and maintaining compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate management reports, variance analysis and financial insights.
- Conduct financial reviews to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare financial statements in line with accounting standards.
- Manage BAS, GST and broader ATO compliance requirements.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, supplier communication and the finance inbox.
- Process invoices, schedule payments and manage payment runs.
- Complete bank, AP and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain compliant, accurate and well‑organised financial records.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance (B.Com, Master of Skilled Accounting, or equivalent).
- Highly adept at learning new ERP software systems, business processes and able to hit the ground running.
- Demonstrable experience in Management Accounting and/or Financial Controller roles.
- Strong analysis, reporting and capability to deliver insight‑based reporting.
- Strong knowledge of ATO compliance (BAS, ITR, GST, FBT).
- Strong knowledge of transactional functions (AP, AR, reconciliations, GL, invoicing).
- CA or CPA qualified.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP.
- Experience navigating ERP transformation projects (post‑implementation).
