Senior Acoustic Engineer
As our new Senior Acoustic Engineer, you’ll be a key member of Aurecon’s specialist Acoustics team, helping to shape the soundscapes of Australia’s most complex and high‑profile projects. You’ll join a dynamic and flexible team of more than 10 acoustic specialists across Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney.
You’re ideal if you have 5–6 years of experience, thrive in a technically challenging environment, enjoy mentoring junior engineers, and are passionate about creating spaces that sound as valuable as they look.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to acoustic design for buildings, including sound‑privacy, reverberation, and noise control.
- Support environmental noise assessments and environmental compliance for infrastructure and energy projects.
- Work independently to deliver technical solutions and ask the right questions to guide design outcomes.
- Mentor and train graduates and junior engineers, sharing knowledge and building capability within the team.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver integrated acoustic solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and modelling outputs using industry‑standard tools.
- Contribute to major projects including data centres, battery energy storage, and transport infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- 5–6 years’ experience in architectural and/or environmental acoustics.
- Strong technical capability in acoustic modelling, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passion for innovation and sustainability in acoustic design.
- Familiarity with state EPA guidelines and Australian Standards.
