Who We Are
The Australian High Speed Rail Association (AuHSRA) was established in 2023 as a not-for-profit public company, limited by guarantee and registered with ASIC. The Association was founded by private citizens who possess substantial experience in various facets of high speed and fast rail, united by an interest in advancing modern rail transport as a driver of Australia’s long-term growth and development. The AuHSRA’s purpose is to deliver independent, non-partisan, and expert advice to the Australian government, the High Speed Rail Authority, State and Territory government agencies, and other stakeholders engaged in the planning and development of high speed and fast rail networks in Australia. A central role of the Association is to educate the public about the necessity, advantages, opportunities, and challenges of investing in large-scale public infrastructure. The Association believes that decisions regarding the implementation of such programs require policymakers to look beyond short-term election cycles and political considerations, recognising the significant and enduring nature of these investments.
The Association aims to serve as an objective advocate, providing balanced and equitable advice to support urban and regional development, underpinned by modern rail networks along Australia's east coast.
About the Role
