Skills we’re hiring for Finance Strategy, Leadership, Negotiation, Procurement Leadership, Purchasing Processes, Sourcing Strategies, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, Supplier Negotiations, Supplier Strategy About the role As AGL’s Business Operations Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our Technology team’s success — partnering closely with the Customer Markets Technology Domain General Manager to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-performing operations. You’ll be the go-to person for turning complex data into clear insights, ensuring our budgets, forecasts, and workforce planning are on point, and that our vendors and contracts are delivering real value. You’ll have the opportunity to influence strategic planning, streamline governance, and drive operational excellence across multiple domains. This is a role where your work will have a direct impact on how AGL delivers technology solutions that power Australia’s energy future. You’ll collaborate with Finance, People & Culture, Procurement, and Risk — acting as the connector that brings everything together for seamless, well-governed delivery. About You You’re a natural organiser and problem-solver who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. You know how to balance strategic priorities with operational realities, and you bring a track record of making processes more efficient, data more meaningful, and governance more effective. You’ll bring: Experience in business operations, technology management, or portfolio management (5 years), ideally in a large or complex organisation. Financial & operational expertise with strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation — ideally using TBM principles. Stakeholder management skills to work confidently with senior leaders and across business units. Analytical skills to turn numbers into insights using tools like Power BI and ServiceNow. Qualifications in business, IT, or project management (postgrad, TBM, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or ITIL certifications a plus). A mindset focused on improvement, collaboration, and making a tangible impact. Key Accountabilities Financial & Performance Management Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting for the CMT domain. Use TBM principles to increase cost transparency and drive efficiencies. Track and report on delivery performance for quarterly and strategic planning cycles. Workforce Planning Ensure accurate workforce planning, tracking FTE and contingent labour. Align workforce resourcing to evolving delivery needs. Vendor & Contract Governance Oversee key technology vendor performance, compliance, and alignment with strategy. Support onboarding of new vendors, tools, and delivery models. Governance & Reporting Manage agendas, actions, and reporting for governance forums and leadership meetings. Build and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor risks, performance, and metrics. Coordinate audits, compliance, and risk management activities. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve stakeholder experience. Provide ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making. Act as a connector between Technology and corporate functions for integrated operations. Applications close on Monday 18th August 2025.
