We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to lead and to oversee and optimise the financial operations of the Group My PlantCo and its three subsidiaries. This role requires strong leadership, a detail-oriented approach and the ability to provide actionable insights to support decision-making and business growth.
Responsibilities:
* Financial reporting for the group – divisional reporting, revenue and cost analysis, cash flow reporting and management.
* Monthly board reporting for the group – budgeting, budget-variance reporting, cash flow analysis.
* Accounts & Auditing - preparing the full-year statutory accounts in accordance with AASB requirements and management of the year-end audit process.
* Tax and Regulatory Compliance.
* Ensuring robust controls and compliance are in place.
* Implementation of new systems and processes – to support the company's growth.
* Financial planning, analysis & scenario modelling – modelling growth scenarios of the business.
* Scope to grow additional responsibilities, including taking on the role of a Company Secretary.
* Work alongside talented staff – CEO (female founder), CFO (experienced in successful start-ups & investment banking background), CMO & CPO (experienced multinational backgrounds) and deliver work to C-suite and Board levels.
* Managing, supervision and mentorship of other staff – that perform Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions.
* Experience in overseeing the financial management of research and development (R&D) activities, including tracking expenditure, preparing acquittals and managing grant applications and reporting, will be highly regarded.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory authorities and where necessary liaise with 3rd parties such as external banking relationships, insurance companies and accounting firms.
Your Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 7 years' experience in Australian companies with a CA/CPA/IPA or equivalent qualification.
* Strong integrity with a sound work ethic.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to communicate and work across all levels of the business.
* Proven ability to manage external audit and financial compliance functions.
* Excellent financial control experience.
* Required experience with accounting systems (Xero etc.).
* Sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products (in particular Excel).
* ERP systems experience is preferable – please include experience in your application.
