About the Role
We're seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer to join our rollout project team in Sydney. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in configuring, maintaining, and securing complex network environments to support critical infrastructure and ongoing network transformation initiatives.
You'll work across routing, switching, firewalls, and performance monitoring while ensuring the network operates securely and efficiently. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving technical challenges, this is an excellent opportunity to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other core network devices.
* Implement and maintain network security policies, including firewalls, IDS, and NAC.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network performance and connectivity issues.
* Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards.
* Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable network solutions.
* Audit and manage IP address allocations, ensuring optimal utilization.
* Monitor and optimize network performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
* Perform regular upgrades, patching, and maintenance to ensure network stability and security.
Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of IP protocols, routing, switching, and general networking concepts.
* Proven experience designing and implementing network architectures.
* Hands-on experience troubleshooting network issues in complex environments.
* Solid knowledge of network security principles and technologies.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
* Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are highly regarded.
