The Business Development Manager – Civil / LSP plays a pivotal role in driving profitable growth and expanding market share within the civil and LSP sectors. As a key member of the Country Sales Team, the BDM will proactively identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, foster strong client relationships, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and senior management within Doka Australia.
This position is suitable for a professional with project management experience, capable of managing large-scale civil and construction projects.
This role requires a strategic, results-driven professional with a deep industry understanding, capable of delivering innovative solutions aligned with the company’s objectives.
* Build and maintain strong, profitable relationships with clients and decision-makers
* Prepare and present proposals to meet client requirements and offer solutions
* Expand the client portfolio to grow market share in their relevant state or territory within the civil and LSP space
* Oversee and support the project lifecycle, from inception to handover, ensuring timely delivery and high standards of quality
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all Doka products, key customers, and stakeholders
* Achieve sales targets set by Sales Management, using excellent presentation and negotiation skills to close deals
* Prepare expressions of interest, tender submissions, and marketing materials
* Manage projects collaboratively with stakeholders, both internal and external
* Handle the handover process for successful tenders
* Serve as the first point of contact for clients throughout all project stages, supporting related work including processing, discounting, rental rates, and claims
* Promote and cross-sell our range of products and services
* Update and maintain customer records and enquiry statuses in our CRM system
* Take ownership of responsibilities and collaborate with team members across all project stages to ensure alignment and target achievement
Qualifications and experience:
* Formal training in business or equivalent is desirable
* Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a BDM role within construction or similar sectors
* Proven sales and customer management experience, ideally in system formwork
* Experience within the civil and LSP sectors is highly regarded
* Technical understanding of the formwork and construction industry
* Track record of securing new tender opportunities in non-residential construction
* Effective sales techniques
* Driven, energetic, and passionate about construction
* Problem-solving skills and independent decision-making
* Self-motivated and solution-oriented
* Ethical work practices and compliance adherence
* Strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Established network in the sector
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT programs
* Valid driver’s license
