Sheet Metal Fabrication and Installation Specialist
Thales is seeking a skilled trade professional to join our Maritime team in Garden Island, Sydney. This exciting opportunity involves working on naval ships and in workshops, where you will assist in planning, supervising and undertaking the installation, repair, modification, commissioning and fabrication of steel metal components and associated materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture all types of sheet metal work from drawings in various types of metals.
* Plan and coordinate tasks in conjunction with manager and team members, to meet schedule requirements.
* Ensure work conforms to specifications and appropriate standards.
* Communicate complex trade information regarding progress of the job to other personnel and customers.
About You:
* Experience in all aspects of manufacturing and repair methods.
* Willng to undertake multi-skilled activities in all aspects of ship repair and maintenance work.
* Sound verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of Welding processes would be an advantage.
* A strong commitment towards maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment.
