About the Role We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Adelaide team. This is a rarely offered leadership role that provides an opportunity to drive technical excellence, grow client relationships, and mentor the next generation of engineers in a supportive environment.
You will lead the delivery of projects across a wide range of sectors including Defence, Health, Education, and Infrastructure, working closely with clients, contractors and Lucid’s national network under our One Lucid ethos.
Key Responsibilities Lead the Adelaide mechanical engineering team across multiple projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development and securing repeat work.Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to emerging professionals.Undertake design, documentation, and consulting tasks for a diverse range of mechanical services system technologies.Carry out advanced mechanical and computational calculations.Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and all other relevant codes and regulations.Oversee and review work prepared by other engineers, maintaining Lucid’s quality assurance standards.Manage project budgets and support commercial outcomes.Attend project meetings and site inspections, preparing reports and technical documentation.Represent Lucid at industry events and contribute to the growth of our market presence.
About You You are a technically strong and people-focused engineer who thrives in a leadership role and enjoys driving both project and team outcomes.A minimum of 8+ years’ experience in building services mechanical engineering.Proven experience in leading teams and projects within a consulting workplace.Australian-recognised degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.Excellent communication and client engagement skills.Australian Citizenship (mandatory for Defence projects).Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or in the process of obtaining.Experience with REVIT (preferred) and AutoCAD.Strong understanding of Quality Assurance systems and the National Construction Code and Australian Standards.
