About the Department of Education

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

We ensure young children get the best start in life by supporting and regulating the early childhood education and care sector. We unlock excellence and unleash the potential of two-thirds of school children in NSW. We're proudly public and the largest education system in Australia. We nurture opportunities for every learner to develop the skills needed for their chosen career path, helping shape the industries of tomorrow.

We respect and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as First Peoples of Australia.

About the Teaching and Learning Support directorate

The Teaching and Learning Support (TLS) directorate enables schools, teachers and the system to support all learners to effectively and equitably access and engage with the curriculum to reach their potential. TLS develops and delivers evidence-based professional learning, resources and advice to schools to enable the provision of an outstanding education for every learner.

About Targeted Programs and Implementation Support

The Targeted Programs and Implementation Support (TPIS) unit co-designs, delivers, and strengthens high quality programs and initiatives focused on enhancing effective educator practices and improving student learning outcomes in schools. We achieve this through intentional collaborations within TPIS, across the Teaching and Learning Support directorate (TLS), and throughout the department in the following ways:

* Leading the development and co-design of digital professional learning and resources across TLS and throughout the department.

* Delivering high quality, evidence-based professional learning, resources, and expert advice to support:

* The delivery of the Small Group Tuition program,

* Secondary teachers' strengthened capacity to lift academic writing within KLAs in Stages 4 and 5, and
