THE OPPORTUNITY In this position, you will play a key role in supervising and mentoring a team of accountants while ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting services to a diverse client base. You will work closely with senior management to support team development, maintain technical standards and ensure efficient workflow within the accounting team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and mentor junior accountants within the team Review accounting work including financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations Provide guidance and technical support to team members Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations Support the delivery of high-quality accounting and advisory services to clients Assist in improving internal processes and workflow efficiency Collaborate with managers and partners to achieve team and client objectives Maintain strong professional relationships with internal stakeholders and clients EXPERIENCE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline Several years of experience in tax or business services accounting Previous experience reviewing work or mentoring junior staff Strong technical knowledge of financial statements and tax compliance Experience with Xero, MYOB and Microsoft Office Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage priorities and support team performance THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Full-time permanent position within a national accounting firm Opportunity to step into a leadership and mentoring role Exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries Supportive and collaborative working environment Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities Employee wellbeing initiatives including an Employee Assistance Program Social events and team engagement activities Please note: This job is based in Australia therefore, only candidates who are permanent residents or citizens of Australia or NZ will be considered.
