We're looking for a passionate and motivated Cook/Chef to join our energetic kitchen team at the National Arboretum Canberra.
What We're Looking For
Excellent cooking skills and a genuine passion for food
At least 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, production, and service
A creative flair and commitment to producing quality food
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Professional presentation and attention to detail
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Your own reliable transport
Key Responsibilities
Preparing and cooking meals to a high standard
Inspecting and assessing food quality
Operating and controlling the temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances
Season, portion, plate, and garnish dishes with care and creativity
Storing food in temperature-regulated environments
Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary needs
Assist chefs with menu planning and estimating food quantities
Support the training and development of kitchen staff and apprentices
What We Offer
Salary: $70,000 – $77,000 per annum (gross)
Flexible 7-day roster, including morning, day, and evening shifts
Employment conditions in line with the National Employment Standards
