We’re looking for a
Senior Mainframe Developer
with deep COBOL expertise to help design, enhance, and modernise our high-volume, business-critical applications. This is a unique opportunity to combine
traditional mainframe engineering excellence with modern, AI-first development practices .
What you’ll be doing
Design, develop, and support
COBOL and CAP COBOL
applications on
z/OS, supporting large-scale, high-volume transaction processing
Maintain and enhance
IMS online and batch systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience
Build and support data processing solutions using
DB2, IMS DB, and sequential file structures
Act as a
subject matter expert
in mainframe development, helping define coding standards, best practices, and modernisation approaches
Ensure compliance with internal standards and
regulatory obligations
across all development activities
Drive innovation by applying an
AI-first approach
to automate coding, testing, data mapping, orchestration, and documentation
What you’ll bring
Strong hands‑on experience in
COBOL development
within large enterprise or banking environments
Exposure to or experience with
CAP COBOL
in production systems
Proven experience working with
IMS DB, including data access, schema design, and integration
Solid understanding of
z/OS mainframe environments
Experience with
Endevor
for source code management
Familiarity with modern tooling such as
Git and Bitbucket
