We are engaged in the entire project cycle from green field studies, feasibility, site investigation, design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance, and closure. This allows our professionals to challenge themselves while gaining valuable engineering and project management experience on fascinating projects.
We are looking for a motivated Civil Designer to join our growing team based in our Newcastle office. The successful Civil Designer will be part of a team which includes professionals in civil, geotechnical, water, and geology disciplines. The designer's responsibilities will include the design and documentation of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, haul roads, general civil earthworks and surface water management structures.
Responsibilities
Creating conceptual and detailed drawings to support our Geotechnical, Water, and Civil Engineering teams.
Designing a variety of civil structures such as:
Roads and ramps
Drainage systems
Embankments and earthworks
Building design models that are ready for digital issue to clients for construction.
Collaborating with engineers and other designers to ensure smooth project delivery.
Using tools like AutoCAD, 12D, and/or Civil 3D to bring designs to life.
Making sure your work aligns with project specs, standards, and client expectations.
Supporting the team with design reviews, updates, and technical input.
Qualifications
7+ years' experience in civil design and drafting.
Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, 12D and/or Civil 3D software.
Demonstrated experience in 3D design of mining-related civil earthworks, dam embankments (including zoning), tunnels, levees, and roads is highly regarded. However, candidates with experience in other civil domains are also encouraged to apply.
A keen eye for detail and a focus on producing high-quality, accurate design outputs.
Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma of Engineering Technology (Civil), Diploma of Civil Engineering (Drafting/Design), Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or similar from a recognised technical institution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and the ability to effectively work autonomously as well as in a team of professionals.
