Risk Management protects the Group's interests by providing insightful, independent risk leadership and a commercial, evidence‑based approach to managing risk. The Board and regulators rely on Risk Management as a trusted, independent voice that helps the Group deliver sustainable returns within appetite.
Do work that matters
You'll strengthen and operate an effective Line 2 credit risk capability for CBA and Bankwest. You'll build and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, analyse data and performance indicators to identify emerging risks, and ensure key credit metrics remain within appetite. You'll also maintain robust credit risk frameworks and provide independent oversight and assurance.
More specifically, you will:
* Manage, coach and develop your team, role‑modelling the Group's vision, values and leadership behaviours
* Establish and maintain Line 2 credit risk appetite across CBA, Bankwest, RMG and Unloan Home Buying portfolios, ensuring measures and thresholds are clear, robust and actionable
* Lead technical Line 2 reviews and offer independent challenge of risk/reward strategies and their supporting analytics
* Monitor portfolio performance and conduct deep‑dive analysis to identify emerging risks and recommend strategy adjustments
* Provide oversight of material changes to origination, decisioning, arrears and collections processes and products, ensuring controls and outcomes balance financial and customer considerations
* Drive data and process‑improvement initiatives, including data optimisation, insight visualisation, risk segmentation and reporting
* Communicate succinctly with senior stakeholders and committees, offering clear recommendations and evidence‑based advice
We want to hear from you if you have:
* Proven experience in an analytics or data role using SQL, SAS, R or Python
* Understanding of macroeconomic and regulatory environments and credit risk.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate insights and advice to diverse audiences.
* A tertiary qualification in a relevant quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Statistics
